Most of the work we perform is based on the FreeBSD operating system, which is derived from BSD UNIX. BSD maintains a long heritage as one of the oldest and most stable Internet operating system platforms, and it is able to run quite effectively on commodity PC hardware.

In a time when many companies are discarding old Pentium and even Pentium II machines in search of faster Windows performance, it is worth noting that these machines make ideal servers for things such as Internet mail (SMTP), Web servers (HTTP), Usenet news (NNTP), domain name servers (DNS), DHCP servers, timekeepers (NTP), Web caching and acceleration (ICP), and a wide variety of other assorted server needs.

We specialize in providing robust, highly secured systems to provide any of the above needs. The Internet is a demanding and dangerous place, and we can help minimize your risk in connecting to the Internet by providing the operating system and application know-how to build highly secure solutions for most applications.

We can often take your old equipment and transform it to a new, useful function. We periodically have older machines for sale, as well, which are proven hard workers from our own server environment. We are also, of course, willing and able to create a server out of new hardware, although we usually find that clients have an old machine that is more suitable for a transformation.

Among our core services, we do offer server maintenance and remote monitoring as strongly recommended options for all clients. No software package is completely secure or bug-free, and we routinely monitor a variety of Internet vulnerability reporting sites for the latest potential security problems. Remote administration and maintenance can even allow us to perform many tasks without an on-site visit!

Our systems come, by default, with a time-tested IP packet firewall, in addition to a heavily secured base FreeBSD installation, and careful architecting of the desired application(s) to ensure a very low risk profile in your Internet environment.

We can also perform security audits of your other systems, implement custom programming solutions for unique problems, design and deploy IP based networks and routers, and advise on the design and implementation of DMZ firewall solutions and related issues. We are experienced in the design and implementation of data centers, too!
